watermelon carving ~ porcupine

Here's a porcupine that i made carving out a watermelon... it doesn't really look like a porcupine, but i tried. Here are the steps, if you're interested. At first wash your watermelon.

Using a regular knife cut it out, as shown on the picture lower.

Then i used this kind of tool to help me carve out the watermelon.... if anyone is interested where i got this tool, leave a comment lower and i'll find out for you where you can get it.

At first i used the side that looks like an icecream scoop, but it's not, so using this spoon i took out the watermelon to pieces :). The pieces were supposed to turn out looking more like balls, but mine don't because it was my first time trying it, i need to get the hang of it.

So here's how the watermelon looks hollow.

Using the other side of the tool i cut out all the edges to make them zig-zag looking.

From this point on, you can make it look like a stroller for summer baby showers!

Fill it back up with watermelon pieces.

Poke a lot of toothpics in. Using toothpics to hold the eyes and the nose.

Enjoy,
