(craft) kitchen crafts for easter and an easter printable

This was a paper mache craft that i've done using Martha Stewards directions. Of course they did not turn out as great s hers, but mine still look good also, maybe next year i'll do them again and they will look better. So what i did was, i blew up a big ballon, cut up tissue paper into strips. I made three layers, for the inside i used light pinks, for the middle, just plain white and for the top a mechanical shining paper. You cant really see on the photos, but it has a little shine to it. So the glue that i used to dip in the paper was MOD Podge. Loved the project!

The smaller eggs where not Martha's i just got the idea off the internet from different sites. I took the plastic easter eggs and again cut pieces of scrapbooking paper, and dipping in the MOD Podge i wrapped the egg and let it dry.

(recipe) sugar cookies with buttercream topping

So here are some sugar cookies i made for easter.

I don't make too many cookies, infact i dont even remember last time i made any. Soooo i  used Marthat Stewards buttercream recipe, turned out great! And the dough i made from a package, i didn't want to experiment, just needed them to turn out good. We used easter shapes for the cookies, and i was going to decorate them pretty, but then didn't have the time, so i just did whatever i did.

Here's Viola playing with the dough.

And here's the sugar cookie mix i used, you can find them at any store.

And here's the recipe to the buttercream:

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, cut into small pieces, softened
  • any food coloring

Directions

1.     Whisk sugar, egg whites, and salt in a heatproof mixer bowl set over a pan of simmering water until sugar dissolves and syrup registers 160 degrees on a candy thermometer.
2.     Transfer bowl to mixer, and whisk sugar syrup on medium speed for 5 minutes. Raise speed to medium-high, and whisk until stiff, glossy peaks form, about 6 minutes.
3.     Reduce speed to medium. Add butter, 1 piece at a time, whisking well after each addition. Whisk in food coloring.

(recipe) berrymissu in cups

Ingridients:
  • 1 c. pureed strawberries
  • 12 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar, divided
  • 2 c. heavy whipping cream
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 50 crisp ladyfingers
  • fresh strawberries, for garnish

Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, water and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently. Remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool until lukewarm to the touch.

2. Using a handheld or electric stand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese and 3/4 cup granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth. In a medium bowl, beat the whipping cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture, using a rubber spatula to fold the mixture together so the cream doesn’t deflate. Fold in the strawberry puree and gently mix until just combined.
3. To assemble, briefly dip the ladyfingers or biscuits (or cookies) in the syrup – about 1-2 seconds each side. Layer the soaked ladyfingers/biscuits/cookies in a single layer in the trifle dish. Gently spread about 1 c. of the strawberry cream cheese mixture over the ladyfingers then repeat the layers, ending with the strawberry cream cheese . Refrigerate the trifle for 3 hours (or up to 12), garnish with additional sweetened whipped cream, if desired, and fresh strawberries and serve chilled.

It turned out to be a good spring desert.

I really wanted to share the source, where i got the recipe from, but cant find it, sorry.
